The holiday season is great time to catchup and review past progress, WoodMarvels.com is no different. I have just finished updating all the imagery in both our wood project blueprints website imagery. We grew rather quickly in our product offerings and as such, lighting and texturing where updated on the fly. Now that we have established what looks best under what environment, we went back on the past few months of work and gave all of our wood marvels the [...]

If you live in North America or Europe, odds are that you have a real Christmas tree in your house as part of the Christmas festivities. Here is how you get the most Christmas tree enjoyment during that time.
November Forestry
Most Christmas trees are grown on commercial farms and are harvested in November before the winter season has a profound effect on the trees survival mechanisms. For instance, a decrease in light leads to the tree sending much more water fluids [...]
It seems that with every paradigm shift within any industry, there are those who stick to old methods at their own detriment, mostly due to fear.
New ways ARE superior
I have seen more then my fair share of websites dedicated to why the “old” way of doing things is far superior to “new” advances. The reasons why the new things are inferior are usually pushed by those with a vested interest in keeping the status-quo. Woodworking websites are one of the [...]
Two new models have now been unleashed upon the public. The first is a wood crab project plan that features rotating arm and claws, it also has wheels that allow it to easily move to and from anywhere. The second model is another abstract bank that should make saving up your pennies and dollars an enjoyable habit to maintain.
You can find the crab’s wood project plans in the “Crustaceans” and “Sea Life” categories while the Abstract B Bank can be [...]
It seems we accidentally left an unhatched dinosaur egg in the WoodMarvels hatchery and this weekend a Parasaurolophus was found! This is a special dinosaur because of it’s innovative head ornament that is though to act as a sonic amplifier for effective communications through even the thickest rain forests and vast deserts. The second model we are releasing today is a submarine, easy to grab and will give anybody hours of fun role playing in just about any environment.
These wood [...]
Yes, it’s true, the WoodMarvels.com hatchery has breed two wood project dinosaur plans, the first a strikingly handsome Brontosaurus and the second, a menacing Stegosaurus! If you have a child or relative who is really into dinosaurs, this is the best gift you can give them and it’s guaranteed to be lead free to boot!
Both wood plans are available right now in both the “Dinosaur” and “Reptile” category. We also improved on our category system to include “Mammals” and “Crustaceans”.
Walking down the aisles of the local lumber yard, you can easily be forgiven if you forgot that what you are actually looking at was once living in a vast forest that critters of all types once used for shelter, food or just a perch.
Tree Selection
The first step towards the assembly line would be the growth of the forest to begin with, without going through billions of years of evolution, let’s just take it for granted that a healthy tree [...]
Two new wood buildings are being released today, one is a simple wood stacking game for children where instead of rounds the pieces are angular. We call this game the Pyramid Stacking Game and the plans are available in both the “Child Marvels” and “Games” categories. We have also released the first in our series of abstract banks – hence it’s name, Abstract A Bank. This model uses only 4 dabs of blue to hold everything together, using an innovative [...]
There isn’t a day in the past few months where lead or other toxic ingredients have found their way in consumer related products originating from China. But you have to ask yourself… what exactly are you surprised about?
Why are Chinese products so cheap?
Let’s backup for a moment, the reason why production of all sorts has moved from (name your country) to mostly China is due to cost. Well, you don’t get anything for nothing, these costs come at the expense [...]
