As I continue to write my way though my first science fiction novel, I find it helps tremendously to make some visuals to help me place things in the right place. A lot goes into figuring things out when writing a possible future for the human race and among them is the look and feel of items. I decided to start writing my novel 2847AD after challenging myself to do so and it has lead me down a road of [...]

We have just finished HD’ing our Tic-Tac-Toe, Tangram and Serving Table assembly animations. We will also be releasing probably the most dynamic and cool looking model we have produced so far in a few days time depending on how fast it can render. Tic-Tac-Toe Inlayed Tangram Serving Table

I have decided to disable all advertising during the 3D assembly animations for WoodMarvels.com, it was a distraction that has gotten the best of me… I got sick of disabling them each time they played on my site

WoodMarvels.com is now an official seller on 1000Markets.com. So far, we have joined Etsy, ArtFire.com and Dawanda.com so I will surely post an update as to which system seems to work best in a few months time. You can visit our shop at the following link: http://woodmarvels.1000markets.com We have added the same number and type of product here as the others so our test is using identical information to base marketing information after the testing period is over. WoodMarvels.com has just released a major refresh of our old Straddle Carrier to use square dowels cut at the same time as the rest of our laser cut kit and improvements throughout including a container that doesn’t require any glue to stay together! As a result, WoodMarvels.com has retired our wooden kits of our old Straddle Carrier and replaced them with our newest model, Straddle Carrier B. This model features a far more efficient lifting mechanism, wooden wheels with tread [...]

We’ve completed the steps involved with having some of our prodcuts for sale on DaWanda. As our products are produced on-demand, whether we get one order or a thousand, shipping the product directly to the customer is no problem no matter where they live and each and every kit will be identical in every way. You can visit our Dawanda.com Shop at: http://woodmarvels.dawanda.com Random 3D assembly animation: Bowling Board Game

Yesterday WoodMarvels.com joined Etsy, today it’s ArtFire’s turn. The nice thing about Artfire is that it’s free and even better, has a one page “fill this out” form instead of five that Etsy requires… I like the more streamlined approach. ArtFire also has a “make an offer” system as well which, to be honest, I really like! Within an hour of joining, I already had several compliments on the work… let’s turn that into sales! I am still green to [...]

I’ve been hearing lots of good things about Etsy from other designers so I decided to give them a try as well. For those who don’t know, it’s like eBay without the auction and specializes in “handmade” items. Sure, laser cut items aren’t handmade but they are not mass produced either so I think having our stuff on there is in the same spirit as their mission in this sense. You can visit our Etsy homepage at: http://WoodMarvels.etsy.com Within a [...]

WoodMarvels.com has now made available a smaller wood laser cut kit of its popular Medieval Castle Walls B model. It’s 66% smaller but you no longer need a mansion in order to assemble and play with it. The new dimensions are 92cm long and 13cm high (with flags) with a width of 80cm with a material thickness of 4mm. The model itself has not changed nor have the blueprint or the much larger version of it laser cut. You can [...]

Paystolivegreen.com is a website that dedicates itself towards environmentally friendly alternatives to mass produced junk that is harmful to your family and environment. They did a quick review of WoodMarvels.com back in January but I just got wind of it today. I found a great site called Wood Marvels that helps you make you own toys.  This allows you to choose the exact wood you would like your child’s toys to be made with.  They sell the blueprints for a [...]
