The process showing how the Stereo Bank, launched a few days ago, was built from end to start is now available. One significant design change as you can see is the reversing of the speakers around the end of the design process… I just didn’t like the look I had and the switch made them much stronger as well. the same also holds true on the top where the record player is… it looked rather plain and although the video [...]
10mm kits are now back at WoodMarvels.com. I had to do a few updates to them but they are now available for a variety of products on the site. I plan on converting other models to this size where appropriate but I find 6mm to be the perfect size for modeling with the largest pieces usually just fitting on a sheet. The bad thing about 10mm thickness plywood is that it’s a lot more expensive to cut and due to [...]
While building the TV Bank a few weeks ago for WoodMarvels.com, I decided that it needed some company and hence, the new Stereo Bank! This took me quite a bit more work, it’s far more complex but at the same time, far more detailed as well. It features moving parts, quick release system and can find itself at home within just any application, from bookshelf ornament and or bookends. Lots of space inside as well for some real speakers if [...]
I’ve enjoyed watching Bridge Launchers since I was a kid… usually attached to a tank, they are the ultimate in flexibility, strength and usefulness that seem to get too little attention in my mind. Without these machines, many wars would have been lost or at least troop movements being greatly hampered. Here are some cool videos I found that show how these machines work so you can see the different ways they go about bridging gaps. Stilzkin Bridge Launcher Marines [...]
I just checked my video views and noticed a huge spike in traffic. WoodMarvels.com today hit a milestone of 3 000 video views in one day and the video mostly responsible for this is the F35 Joint Strike Fighter on Metacafe.com. Previously, WoodMarvels.com had been averaging about a thousand a day… I’m hoping the video goes viral Here it is again! F35 Joint Strike Fighter: 3D Assembly Animation
I’ve just launched a new project, a fantastic looking F35 Joint Strike Fighter. The nice thing about having a growing catalog of products here on WoodMarvels.com is that if something takes a little extra time, it’s alright as there is plenty for customers to choose from on the site already! Believe it or not, this is roughly the 130th product available on at WoodMarvels.com (excluding puzzles which add another 100 or so). This model was designed by David Newman who [...]
