I got an e-mail from Tom a few weeks ago of the completed Rusk Fortress he cut and build for his children… here are the results! Hi Jon, attached a picture of the lasercut castle I did for the kids. I left out some of the side panels to offer more fun for them. With a litlle granite-color paint it really looks great. I’m still looking for rough brick like vector mask to apply for etching after the paintjob to [...]

The flying car was great fun to build and animate and now I have some pictures of David who cut and built one of his own using our EPS files! I used the new material for cut the flying car, so i can say that cut result is very good. No burning points, and darker zone caused by the smoke are improved now, because i changed aspiration air system. -David If you want to build your own, you can find [...]
A new designer has joined the ranks of WoodMarvels.com, his name is the same as mine and he’s even more talented than I am! I got to up my game even more! Jonathan’s first design launch at WoodMarvels.com is a decent sized project with just under 200 pieces and it’s a Front End Loader with moving arms and wheels! What I really like about this design is how close he got this wooden model to the real thing! Talented guy! [...]

The WoodMarvels.com Mars Rover: Opportunity is now available in DXF format after I had a request for it… will be neat to see this model both CNC’ed and laser cut (which Hines Design Labs documented earlier). You can buy this right now under Special Products / Special Editions. As always, if you want a product in DXF that isn’t available at WoodMarvels.com currently, be sure to send me a note and I’ll get right on it! I also noticed that [...]
David Newman kept at refining his really cool Bobcat design and the result is the MK3 Bobcat. It features both a simpler building process and a stronger wooden toy overall. He also added a little guy inside the cockpit driving it and as always, all that’s required is some glue to keep everything together in tip-top shape! You can find it right now at WoodMarvels.com under Collaborations / David Newman. MK3 Bobcat: 3D Assembly Animation (720HD) The original Bobcat design [...]
I’ve assembled and animated many models but this model by Tom, our newest collaboration here at WoodMarvels.com has been by far the most challenging! I don’t quite know how else to describe it other than the wooden puzzle from hell (in a good way of course)! Tom was kind enough to provide an EPS file with built-in assembly instructions as it would have been incredibly difficult to show assembly in any other way. You can find it under Collaborations / [...]
February was surprisingly busy with some great models coming into the limelight with some others within days of release due to a long rendering queue. So, what happened at WoodMarvels.com over the past month of February? I released a Mars Explorer vehicle and a massive Medieval Castle Had the huge Medieval Castle shown in a Nurberg, Germany International Toy Fair at the Trotec Laser booth! I released ‘behind the scenes’ design process for both the Mars Explorer and Medieval Castle [...]
